This session centers on the idea from NCTM’s “Rules That Expire” that many long‑standing math‑class rules were created for convenience, not understanding—and that some rules actually interfere with students’ mathematical reasoning. Collaborate with others to shift from expired rules to ideas that support deep mathematical reasoning.
