SUMMARY:Mixing What Matters: Combining Savvas\, the DMOI\, and Engagement Together for Student Success
DESCRIPTION:What do flour\, butter\, sugar\, have in common? Individually\, they're valuable—but together\, they create something truly exceptional. In the same way\, the new Savvas ELA curriculum\, the Davis Model of Instruction (DMOI)\, and high-impact student engagement strategies mix together to create meaningful learning experiences for students. Rather than viewing these as separate frameworks\, you'll discover how they naturally complement one another to support rigorous instruction\, align with district initiatives\, and inspire active student learning. You'll leave with practical engagement strategies for Savvas lessons that align with the DMOI and facilitate a cohesive approach that helps every student succeed. Come ready to discover the recipe for turning great ingredients into exceptional learning!

SUMMARY:Engaging All Readers in Grade Level Texts
DESCRIPTION:How do we help ALL students access challenging grade level texts? We will explore using active reading techniques to support all readers. As Dr. Jennifer Throndsen says\, "It isn't about matching the text to the student - it's about identifying what instructional strategies teachers can leverage to create an optimal and challenging learning experience" (Raising Up Readers\, 2025). Together we will discuss how to intentionally leverage active reading strategies to ensure all students are meaningfully engaged. No matter your readers' skill set\, you will leave with strategies to help them grow.

SUMMARY:Teams and the Work of DSD (by invitation only)
DESCRIPTION:This session is by invitation only and should include a team of 4 from each school (the principal and three invited members of the school’s guiding coalition).  The session has two primary objectives and will serve as a foundation for future PD and leadership training: Objective 1: Focus guiding coalition efforts on our two primary initiatives — Belonging and High Reliability Schools (HRS). We’ll explore how High Reliability Schools and the work of Belonging complement and support one another as a foundation for school improvement. We will emphasize the guiding coalition’s role as the sustaining force behind this work. Objective 2: Connect the work of guiding coalitions to each school’s Culture & Climate goal. We’ll identify ways to use school improvement planning goals to sustain prior years’ “Priority Schools” work by transitioning leadership and responsibility to the guiding coalition. During the session\, teams will have time to: Discuss their goal Analyze next steps Evaluate their implementation plan Set benchmarks to guide progress through our next meeting

SUMMARY:Data: The Other Primary Source
DESCRIPTION:Social studies classrooms are full of stories\, questions\, arguments\, patterns\, and change over time—and quantitative data can help students see all of those more clearly.
